Rustic Side Plates

Make your own dishes! We will aim to make a set of 4 side plates, suitable for salads,small portions or desserts.

Alyson will start you out with some flat sheets of clay called “slabs.” You choose between botanical texture rollers made from local plants, or chunky fabrics like lace and burlap to make your pattern. Your instructor will show you how to carefully refine and shape your plates.

Since functional pottery goes through several steps before completion, your instructor will show you several glazing options.

Your completed plates will be ready in 4-6 weeks. If you are not local, your plates can be shipped with an additional fee paid directly to the instructor.

Please note that nothing is ever guaranteed in pottery. Working with ceramics carries an inherant risk that your pieces may crack or the glaze isn’t exactly as pictured. However,we do our best to use good practices to minimize this risk.
