Helen, GA — FIND Outdoors announces tickets for Foxfire Night Hikes at Anna Ruby Falls go on sale April 10, 2025. This unique guided experience provides visitors with the rare opportunity to witness foxfire bioluminescence.

Foxfire is a natural occurrence caused by bioluminescent fungi that emit a soft eerie light. The phenomenon is created by a chemical reaction that enables the fungi to produce a greenish glow. Foxfire, also known as “fairy fire,” has inspired folklore and curiosity for centuries. It is often found in moist, shaded environments, making Anna Ruby Falls the perfect habitat.

Guests at Foxfire Night Hikes will travel along a 0.8 mile (round-trip) paved trail up to the base of Anna Ruby Falls, viewing foxfire and learning more about the nocturnal world of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest along the way.

“Our goal is to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the wonders of nature,” said Dallas Martin, Chief Education Officer. “Seeing foxfire firsthand is a magical experience that reminds us of the hidden beauty within our forests.”

• Youth (Ages 4-15): $11

To ensure an intimate and impactful experience while preserving the delicate ecosystem, each night’s attendance is limited to 55 participants.
