Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center

Imagine a place where you can explore, learn, shop, ponder, perform, take classes, listen, create, dance, sing, cook, eat, play, walk and enjoy. The Sautee Nacoochee Center is that place. The Sautee Nacoochee Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing creativity and committed to preserving and protecting the natural and historical resources of the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys and the surrounding area. It is home to the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, an African American Heritage Site, and the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center. The Cultural Center houses two gallery shops, the Center Theatre, a local history museum, and an art studio. A playground, walking trail and the Native Peace Garden are located on the 8.5 acre campus. The Center also offers event and meeting facilities. Learn the history of hand-thrown folk pottery. Immerse yourself in the vibrant artwork lining the halls of the 1928 schoolhouse. Shop for locally handmade artwork. Share in the story of enslaved people who gave their lives in service to their owners. Honor the native peoples who lived in these valleys. Discover gold (and asbestos) in the local history museum. Stretch your legs on the .5 mile walking trail. The Sautee Nacoochee Center welcomes all and is open year-round. Explore Helen & Sautee Nacoochee using the Center’s free, mobile app, which provides a driving tour of historic sites and landscapes. Download it to Android and iPhones: https://snca.org/explore-Helen-GA/intro.html.
