The Sautee Nacoochee Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing creativity and committed to preserving and protecting the natural and historical resources of the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys and the surrounding area. It is home to the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, an African American Heritage Site, and the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center. The Cultural Center houses two gallery shops, the Center Theatre, a local history museum, and an art studio. A playground, walking trail and the Native Peace Garden are also located on the 8.5 acre campus. The Center offers event and meeting facilities.  Learn the history of hand-thrown folk pottery.  Immerse yourself in the vibrant artwork lining the halls of the 1928 schoolhouse.  Shop for locally handmade artwork.  Share in the story of enslaved people who gave their lives in service to their enslavers.  Honor the native peoples who lived in these valleys.  Discover gold (and asbestos) in the local history museum.  Stretch your legs on the .5 mile walking trail.
