Make a log cabin out of ceramics! Design and build your own little cabin luminary. You’ll start with a slab of clay and use stamps, freehand techniques and cutters to make the walls of your cabin. It’s basically a gingerbread house that lasts forever.
No experience necessary. You’ll be forming the Luminary, and in the weeks after your instructor will glaze and fire it to your specifications. Your creation will be ready for you in 4-6 weeks. Local students can pick up at the Helen Arts & Heritage Center, but shipping is available for an additional fee for out of town visitors.
Alyson has been teaching at and managing the Helen Arts Center pottery studio since 2022. The joy of watching potters hone their skills and find their artistic voice is her inspiration for teaching.
As with any ceramics, no result can be guaranteed, but we use best practices to ensure the highest probability of success.
Parking is available on-site at the Helen Arts and Heritage Center for classes, so don’t worry about finding a spot.
